A Survey Study of Audiology Services during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic in South Korea

Purpose: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has severely affected public health and people’s lifestyle. purpose of this survey study is to investigate audiology services during COVID-19 understand the current service situations in Korea improve services.Methods: A total 120 participants (60 audiologists 60 clients visiting audiologists) were surveyed using online or face-to-face methods. answered 24~25 questions including status service, communication difficulties with wearing masks, provision tele-audiology COVID-19.Results: results showed that both hearing loss still preferred situation spite 56% schedule delay cancellation. primary they considered aid fitting maintenance & repair services. Wearing masks led due speech level reduction, frequency filtering sounds, insufficient visual cues conversation. Only 30% have provided services, 4.4% received COVID-19.Conclusion: impacts South are progressing. technical administrative systems educational support necessary.
